The Story of \u00c7al<\/strong><\/h5>\n\nOur story begins centuries ago, when our nomadic Y\u00f6r\u00fck ancestors settled in the lands of \u00c7al, located 65 km northeast of Denizli. Known in antiquity as Mosyna and as \u00c7al since the 18th century, this unique plateau lies at an altitude of 850\u20131100 meters, at the foothills of Mount \u00c7\u00f6kelez, through which flows the B\u00fcy\u00fck Menderes River, named after the ancient River God Meandros.

\nIn Chagatai Turkish, \u201c\u00c7al\u201d refers to \u201chigh land,\u201d \u201ccalcareous soil,\u201d and \u201cstony hill.\u201d For thousands of years, this land has been shaped by a single passion: viticulture. \u00c7al<\/strong> topraklar\u0131na yerle\u015fmesiyle ba\u015flar. In the Footsteps of Dionysus<\/strong><\/h5>\n\nAccording to mythology, Dionysus, the god who discovered wine, founded Dionysopolis in the Menderes Basin to celebrate this miracle, ensuring that some of the ancient world\u2019s most valuable grapes would flourish on this high plateau.

\nAs noted by esteemed archaeologist Prof. Dr. Celal \u015eim\u015fek, the creation of this mythology is no coincidence. These lands served for thousands of years as a major wine source and export hub for ancient cities stretching from Hierapolis to Aphrodisias. Surrounded by monumental ancient settlements\u2014many still waiting to be uncovered\u2014the \u00c7al region continues to preserve its historical and geographical significance. Kuzuba\u011f: A Family Legacy<\/strong><\/h5>\n\nDriven by the desire to properly represent, share, and celebrate the unique qualities of this land, Salih Kuzu\u2014together with his daughters Asl\u0131 Kuzu and G\u00fclin Kuzu\u2014planted their first vineyards in \u00c7al in 2007.

\nAfter 15 years of patiently nurturing the vines, the winemaking journey began with the construction of a winery at the very heart of the vineyards. Built on a 3,000 m\u00b2 area, the winery is fully integrated into the landscape with an ecological design made entirely of exposed concrete and constructed underground.\nThe decision to build an underground structure was intentional: to emphasize that the vineyard is the true essence of great wine, and to ensure that the winery does not overshadow the natural beauty of the vines. At the same time, this design provides significant energy efficiency benefits during production.

\nCompleted in just ten months, the winery processed its first harvest in 2021. Today, Kuzuba\u011f continues to produce high-quality wines from 550 decares of organically certified vineyards located entirely within the \u00c7al region.\nOur motivation goes beyond making wine. We aim to give back to the land that gives to us and to share \u00c7al\u2019s potential with T\u00fcrkiye and the world by striving to produce better wines with every vintage.
